¡Hola!  I’m Señora Jiménez.  I teach 6th and 7th grade World Language and Cultures at Dallas Center-Grimes Community Schools.  This is my 13th year teaching at DC-G and I enjoy what I do.  Speaking Spanish is a hobby for me.  I do understand that language learning is not enjoyable or easy for everyone, but I do desire that you have a good experience while in my class.

Ten Things about Me

1.  I enjoy taking pictures, scrap booking, camping, biking and swimming.

2.  In my free time I spend time with my family.  Our favorite things to do are watch movies and go swimming.  My husband's name is Quebin and we have a 9 year old daughter named Adriana, a 5 year old son named Orlando and a 2 year old son named Quentin.  We lost two babies prior to having our son Orlando.

3.  I rode the Sidewinder at Adventureland 96x in a row without getting off.  It took four hours and I vomited 3x.  I love roller coasters.

4.  I have a fear of driving my car into water and not being able to get out.  Because of this fear, I have a key chain that can break car windows and cut seat belts.

5.  Use to run cross country and track.  I wasn't very good, but enjoyed it. I was a cheerleader in HS and college.  I was the captain, cheered at state and even coached Cheerleading at DC-G my first three years here.

6.  I face paint for fun.  Look me up! Sonshine Face Painting. I am a 4H Clover Kids leader with my husband and am involved in Girl Scouts.

7.  I lived in Ecuador for a year as a missionary.  This is where I learned to speak Spanish.  I also am a Christian and very involved in my church.

8.  I have some pets...a dog-Perla, a cat-Precious, and 2 rabbits Fifi and Bandit.

9.  I met my husband in a Mexican restaurant. I asked the waiter what he recommended on the menu and he said, "Me, baby." So, I asked for a new waiter.  They sent out the cook-My husband.  He is from Panama.

10.  I am a visual, musical and bodily kinesthetic learner.  I try to have activities that teach to all modes of learning.
